About our neighborhood
Stevens Square is lucky to be located in a really great neighborhood - Deering Center in Portland, Maine.
Community Center
Right on the same property as our buildings is the
Stevens Square Community Center. This converted high-school hosts recreation and fitness (
Health Coaches), entertainment (
The Good Theater), a place to get breakfast or lunch (
Tally's Kitchen), and several other businesses. During the winter, the
Portland Farmers' Market is held in the gym from 9am - 1pm.
Deering Center
The
Deering Center Neigborhood Association is the place to go find out about nearby events and to learn more about local businesses. We are lucky to have cafes, restaurants and bakeries, along with great shops and markets. Not far from Deering Center is the
Burbank Branch of the Portland Public Library. We are also close to Woodford's Corner, another nice neighborhood with its own selection of shops and restaurants. The

Get Outside
Portland has trails and green spaces scattered all over town. There are three great ones nearby:
Mayor Baxter Woods (right next door),
Evergreen Woods, and
